Moving through life having been an elementary school teacher and raising my children now grown, time arrived to focus on an endeavor which has remained a passion at last to be released. For my life in art is not of recent vintage. From teaching art in my youth to docenting at the Rutgers University Zimmerli Art Museum, my interests have always embodied an artist's view of the world. Depth in my art began with courses as Kean College leading to an art certification program with a goal of teaching art. The movement toward teaching gave way to the decision to begin a more formal study of my love, painting. A series of courses at the 92nd Street Y followed by a short time at the Art Student League led me to more focused work with my present mentor, Diane Green of New York City. Through Ms. Green's influence, my art has begun the evolution of incorporating formal concepts and structures with a natural talent to create my expressions on canvas. This evolution continued in my studies with Hon Nian Zhang of Woodstock School of Art and has led to the acceptance of my work and awards at juried shows and group exhibitions in New York City and New Jersey.
